BOM: Australian temperatures were above average in 2022

It wasn't hard for Australians to realize that 2022 was too wet, but the Met Office has blown a surprise about it.

The BOM reports that temperatures last year were above average, meaning it was much warmer.

According to a report on Australia's climate in 2022, which the office will adopt in anticipating the climate this year, the country recorded the ninth wettest year ever, and the annual precipitation rate increased by 25%, to record 582.2 mm.

"The average temperature in the country was above average in northern Australia, Tasmania and parts of the west coast, and below average in New South Wales, southern Queensland and parts of South Australia on an annual basis," the report said.

Also, “the tropics witnessed warm weather and strong heat waves that affected the northern and western regions several times during 2022.”

As for water stocks in Australia last year, BOM indicated that they also rose.
